Remembrance at Lydiard Park

MKC Heroes were represented by Corsham Primary School at the opening of the Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance at Lydiard Park, near Royal Wootton Basset, on Friday 9th November.

Heroes from Corsham Primary helped to plant over 330 poppy crosses from schools across the country, each with an individual message, and laid a poppy wreath, all on behalf of the MKC Heroes network.

The MKC Heroes national standard was carried by 10 year old Rubysha, who braved the wind and rain to stand proudly alongside other Royal British Legion standard bearers.

The Field of Remembrance at Lydiard Park has more than 15,000 tributes from members of the public, each carrying a personal message to someone that lost their life during or after the First World War.

Remembrance and the Tommy Statue

I am sure you will have seen our Tommy Statue in our sensory and reflection garden. Today we have been focusing on remembrance and reflecting on the reason for the presence of the statue.
