Chaddlewood Primary

Welcome to Chaddlewood Primary School.
Chaddlewood is a two-form entry school set in extensive grounds in Plympton, on the outskirts of Plymouth. Our buildings are surrounded by a Forest School area, a beautiful pond, large playing/athletics fields and exciting adventure playground equipment.
We believe that Chaddlewood is and will continue to be a special place to learn and work. We are a happy, friendly and welcoming community. We take real pleasure in our successes; both in achievement and attainment, and work hard to support children who may make slower progress or get ‘stuck’ in their learning.
The key aim of the school is to produce confident children who are literate and numerate, enjoy a breadth of opportunities to develop a sense of creativity and who have the skills necessary to support their future learning. It is therefore, the development of the ‘whole child’ that we are interested in.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection which took place in December 2013 judged the school to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features. The lead inspector said ‘Pupils behave exceptionally well in lessons and around the school. They love coming to school, their attendance is above average, and they feel very safe. The school provides a very warm and welcoming environment.
With Chaddlewood Pre-School and ‘Woodies’ Before and After School Care on site, and holiday clubs, we are confident that we can provide the full range of child care and continuity of learning that you might want for your child.
We are supported by the Friends of Chaddlewood group who work hard to raise additional funds for the school to provide extra opportunities for the children. This is done in a variety of fun ways, including discos for the children, quiz nights for parents and fairs at Christmas and during the Summer Term.
This is a new website which is being developed and so we would appreciate any comments or suggestions that you may have.

Chaddlewood School have been very busy so far in 2019! Have a look at what we have been up to 🙂

From September 2017, children have enjoyed playing games, making cookies. We even had a winner of MKC Bake Off, Neve in  Year 3 who met the Mayor of Plymouth!

We made natural material bird feeders for our Bird Cafe. Messy but great fun!

MKC searched our forest school area for some natural materials which we later made some pictures out of.

Great fun in our dressing up relay!

Each term we start our session by getting to know one another and talk about our families. Here we are playing parachute games! The children have made some great friends and created a wonderful support network for one another.

A little taste of basic training with Chaddlewood MKC. Children had to work in pairs to lead each other across the assault course blindfolded and in darkness. Great team building and lots of fun!
