Raigmore Primary School

Raigmore Primary School

Raigmore Primary School, built in 1966, has around 240 pupils from Nursery – Primary 7. It lies in the Raigmore Estate, one mile east of Inverness City centre. Pupils come from Raigmore Estate, Raigmore Hospital and the nearby Wimberley Way Estate. Our facilities include a support base, nurture room, assembly/gym hall, library, art room and a Nursery classroom. School meals are cooked on the premises in our school dining hall. The school playground, enclosed with security fencing, has a tarred area and a large grass playing field. There are two school garden areas and a Nursery outdoor playing area.

Highland Council have just completed significant improvements to the school buildings. We now have a new Nursery, 3 new classroom and two ASN rooms, a new Nurture room, new staffroom, all new toilets and cloakrooms, as well as the whole school getting a much needed lick of paint! We also have an Outdoor Learning space, thanks to funding from Highland Council and the Armed Forces Community Covenant Fund. These improvements are already making a huge difference to the educational experience of children and staff at Raigmore and we are very excited about it all!

Welcome to our School Handbook blog page.  We hope that you find the information here useful and informative.  Please contact us at the school office if you require any further information.

At Raigmore, we aim to provide a happy, safe and fun place to learn, where everyone is included as part of the team.  We care for and respect others and actively listen to their views.  We enjoy sharing and celebrating achievement and success.  All children are encouraged to participate in the life of the school, to work hard and to strive to always achieve their best.  When your child joins us, we are all entering a new partnership with the aim of producing the best possible educational experience for your child.  This is best achieved when home and school are working together and communicating openly, honestly and regularly.

We hope that this blog, along with our main school blog and class blogs, will ensure that you are up to date with what is going on here at Raigmore.  We have a Facebook page, run by our Parent Council, search for ‘Raigmore School Parents & Carers’ and you can follow us on Twitter – @RaigmorePS.

We also have made a film to show what we do at Raigmore, we are very proud of it and of our school!  You can find it here –

Please do contact us if you have any questions about school life, we look forward to welcoming you to our school.

Our ‘Raigmore Rascals’ enjoyed  meeting the Duke of Rothesay at Fort George on Wednesday 27th April.  HRH Prince Charles was very interested to hear about our MKC Heroes group and the events that we have planned.  Here are some photos of our special day.
